Project Two: Sherlock's Alternative Ending

Summarization of Sherlock Episode (Original):
The final season two episode called “The Reichenbach Fall” that I will be changing the ending too is a very sad and confusing episode. The episode opens up with a little bit of foreshadowing of John Watson, his partner in crime, in a counseling/therapy session saying “my best friend, Sherlock, is dead” (Sherlock). After this seen the episode goes back to any other episode where the the two continue to solve crimes. Although, in this episode the two men are dealing with one of the strongest criminals in existence. They are trying to take down this criminal, Moriarty, before he destroys Sherlocks whole career. Moriarty is very clever and will find anyway to trick the world into thinking that Sherlock is a fake and a criminal. Eventually, Sherlock really does fall into Moriarty’s trap and everyone around him thinks that he is a fake and a criminal. Moriarty is getting exactly what he wants. The episode ends with the two men on a rooftop and Moriarty tells Sherlock that if he doesn't jump off the building to his death, Moriarty will have the only few people Sherlock cares about in his life killed. The final scene of the episode don't only include Sherlock jumping to his death but Moriarty also kills himself because he says “if I'm dead the only way to save your friends is if you die too”. We see Sherlock phone John, and jump to his death. Although the major plot twist is when we discover later that Sherlock actually faked his death to save his friends, he did not actually do it. Sadly, Sherlock leaves John thinking that he actually killed himself causing him to fall into a deep depression. This horrible sadness John feels is the main reason I wanted to change the ending.

The new ending:  Rooftop Scene:

Pacing back and forth Sherlock is using his brain palace to figure out any way to get out this mess alive. The horrible Moriarty stands in front of Sherlock saying “there is no way to save yourself if I die...or else my men will kill not only you but your friends too. You must plummet to your death and finish out my story so everyone thinks you're a fraud”. As Moriarty utters that last word he rapidly pulls a handgun from his back pocket and fires it right into his throat. Little did Moriarty or his men know, Sherlock planned and expected all of this to happen. Could we expect anything less from the most brilliant man? Moriarty may be smart, but not anywhere near Sherlock. Sherlock and John planned and hired a group of people to cause distraction on the ground so they could pull of Sherlock’s fake death. As Sherlock prepares to leap to his fake death, Molly, the woman who works in the morg, rushes out from the stairs below and begins turning Moriarty into the dead Sherlock. Her and 3 other men pick up the criminals limp body and carry him to ground level. Hidden by the hired distractions Sherlock jumps off the building so Moriarty’s hidden men think that he has fallen to his death. Although behind all the distraction below, is an airbag on to which Sherlock falls that John had set up. John and Sherlock quickly dismantle the bag and John rushes his best friend into a safe hiding place. At the same time Molly and the men have laid the dead criminal, or “dead Sherlock”, in the place where Sherlock should have fallen. Molly takes out a big bottle of a bright red liquid and squirts the fake blood all around his head. Soon after John, acting of course runs out to the body and mourns. The people around are all fooled. John and Sherlock have accomplished faking Sherlock’s death. Since, John has pretending to be very sad and distraught about it but in reality him and Sherlock are still solving crimes...just with Sherlock in the very hidden background.
